Please join us for a driving tour of United States Steel Clairton Plant, the nation's largest coke making facility. The tour begins with a safety briefing as well as a briefing on steelmaking and the role Clairton play's in the U. S. Steel Mon Valley Works and the company's entire North American operations. Visitors will travel through the facility in motor coaches to see items such as an active coal unloader, an operating coke battery, and operationally significant experiences such as a coke push and quench. Visitors will also have the opportunity to view the construction of C Battery, U. S. Steel's $500 million investment into environmentally sound coke making practices utilizing Uhde's PROven technology.

  • 12:30: Leave the Omni William Penn
  • 1:30: Arrive at Clairton
  • 1:30: Clairton introduction
  • 2:00: Tour (two vans)
  • 3:00: Q&A
  • 3:30: Return to Omni
  • 4:30: Arrive at the Omni

Cost to attend: $90, which includes transportation
